We love Sydney, and we loved working in Surry Hills, but in November last year an opportunity was presented to us that we could not pass up.
I have followed WeWork closely since they launched in 2010 and kept my fingers crossed for when they would one day set up here in Australia. They opened creative space after creative space across the United States and then Europe, even going as far as Israel and India, but never down under. And then it happened. I saw an ad on Facebook for WeWork in Pyrmont, Sydney. We booked a tour and signed on the spot – before construction had even finished. I had seen photos of most of the existing locations (around 98 WeWorks were in existence at that point) and Ben and I had visited WeWork SanFran earlier in the year. We had no doubt they would deliver.
We’ve now been based here at WeWork Pyrmont for close to 4 months and it is everything it is cracked up to be. The building at 100 Harris St was once a wool storage facility and so the designers left lots of the period details in place, such as the exposed timber beams. The styling is inspirational and there are events and workshops on every day – connecting you in with other businesses and entrepreneurs. We even have unlimited beer and cider on tap for clients that arrive to meetings thirsty.
The photos below don’t do it justice so you’re always welcome to come in and check it out for yourself. We’d love to have you here.
